I serve as Interim Executive Director for nonprofit organizations during periods of executive transition, stabilization, or executive search.
This work is designed for boards that require experienced executive leadership, steadiness, and clear decision-making during moments of uncertainty. I step in with defined authority, explicit scope, and a clear mandate to stabilize the organization while protecting staff, mission, and funder confidence.
My role is not interim administration. It is executive leadership.
I work closely with boards to maintain governance integrity, support senior staff, manage organizational risk, and ensure continuity while longer-term leadership decisions are made. I am often engaged when an organization needs calm, experienced leadership that can be carried over time.
Areas of focus commonly include executive decision-making; board relations and governance; staff leadership and organizational stability; budget oversight and cash-flow management; fundraising continuity; compliance and risk awareness; and executive search support and leadership handoff.
Engagements are structured as retainer-based commitments with clear expectations and boundaries.
Three- to nine-month commitments.
Up to twenty hours per week.
Remote or hybrid.
On-site presence limited to no more than two days per week.
San Francisco Bay Area.
Minimum rate: $225 per hour.
This work is appropriate for organizations seeking experienced leadership, stability, and continuity during transition; not short-term coverage, task delegation, or ad-hoc support.
